SE Railway men, Ashok Sangh women emerge champions

South Eastern Railway men and Ashok Sangh (Kharagpur) women emerged
champions in the All-India Kabaddi Tournament, which concluded at Khanditara in Jajpur district today. In the final, South Eastern Railway thrashed Pipili 23-4, while Ashok Sangh defeated Bhubaneswar 22-17.

Earlier in the men`s semifinals, the railway side got the better of Cuttack 24-9 and Pipili edged out Jajpur 9-7. In the women`s semifinals, Ashok Sangh prevailed over Chhattishgarh 31-21 and Bhubaneswar beat Pipili 11-9.

Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout and MLA Kalpataru Das gave away the trophy and prizes at the closing ceremony. Shyam Kumar Saha and Suprava Kundu was adjudged the best male and felame player of the tournament, which was organised by Jajpur Kabaddi Association.
